First-Gen Abroad is WSU’s study abroad program exclusively for students who are the first in their family to attend college. Our four-week summer programs are specifically designed to be affordable, relevant, and fun!
First-Gen Abroad students not only experience academic, personal, and professional growth during their time in the program – they also have unique opportunities to encounter new cultures, explore new places, and meet new people. It’s a life-changing experience!
Who Can Participate
First-Gen Abroad is open to undergraduate first-gen students from all academic majors, WSU campuses, and class standings. You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 to participate. You do not need to be fluent in your host country’s language.
