Connecting for Success: Expanding Horizons

The Team Mentoring Program serves students underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Pre-Health. 

TMP is a network that provides Mentees with a welcoming environment while guiding them to connect with their colleges, departments, and other services across WSU. TMP scholars participate in leadership, academic, and career building experiences. TMP provides access to:

  1. Student mentors, who are available to assist with growing networks and pursuing academic and professional goals through study groups, workshops, and more.
  2. Faculty mentors, college liaisons, staff, and alumni to help maximize educational, social, cultural and professional development.
  3. Scholarships 
  4. Fieldtrips, labs, internships, and other activities to explore different academic and professional advancement opportunities like grad school, research, and jobs.
  5. Social, Cultural, and Fun Activities

TMP taught me to be there for others and to appreciate the beauty of diversity in STEM and in life. To never stop advocating for change, and to use knowledge and compassion to make a difference in the world around me.

Faculty Mentors

Faculty Mentors are professors committed to sharing their knowledge, expertise, and wisdom with student mentors and mentees.

Part of why I’m participating in TMP is to fulfill my obligation of passing my knowledge along and making sure the young generation has a role model that can help them navigate higher education and make sure they are successful.
